Integrated forecast system

Integrated forecast system

Project Description

A control system specifically devised for shipping companies and cruise lines primarily to check the impact of severe sea conditions faced by their fleet of vessels during a transit and for safety level of operations at the ports of call (entry-exit and anchorage). The system has an automatic way to provide departure and arrivals times in a schedule known as “deployment”. This allows the Navimeteo forecaster to know the exact requirements all the time. The forecast and updates compiled by the Navimeteo with no automatic data feeds for each vessel on a daily basis will also include a warning level for adverse conditions assigned by the forecaster. These will vary according to the structural characteristic and performance of the vessel. The forecasting and warning system is controlled by the Fleet Operation Centre whose role is to co-ordinate the communication with the captains and provide decision support required in difficult marine weather conditions.

  • High-quality system to monitor the safety of vessels during transits and port operations
  • No automatic data: the emphasis on the human element is an extremely important added value
  • Reliable warning system to determine the impact of adverse wind/sea/weather conditions
  • Standard 24/7 worldwide coverage
